What can I say? I don't know how I missed this bloke during my 40 years of being a music nut. He is fantastic. He's been on the scene for over 50 years! The list of people who cite him as a major influence includes - Eric Clapton, John Renbourn, Rod Stewart & Ralph McTell to name just the ones who spring to mind. He is 68 and still brilliant.
I saw Wizz last night at The Orpington Folk Club - what a night. I looked around me at an audience that were completely transfixed by the maestro guitar playing and passionate vocal delivery of such classics as "Burma Star" "The Legendary Me" & "Paris"
The FolkMob have got to book this guy while he is still gigging, I can assure them that they will be shouting out for "More" as they were last night at Orpington. I will definitely be looking out for any more gigs Wizz is playing in my reach!
